Tim McFeeley

Tim has built a practice grounded in civil rights, advocacy, law, and public policy. His prior experience as a practicing lawyer, corporation general counsel, and nonprofit leader helps inform the insights he brings to his higher education and nonprofit clients. Since joining Isaacson, Miller in 2008, he has led searches for deans of schools of law and public and international affairs; university counsel, public policy directors; and leaders of civil rights, environmental, and other impact litigation and advocacy organizations. Tim co-leads the firm’s Social Justice + Advocacy practice group.

Tim’s interest in U.S. history and the role of leadership in a democracy aligns deeply with his practice at the firm. In addition to his career as an attorney, he served for several years as executive director of the Center for Policy Alternatives, as well as executive director of the Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest LGBTQ+ advocacy organization.

In a time of unprecedented challenges to the rule of law and human rights and significant change for legal education, Tim feels it is critical to recruit exceptional leaders for these institutions. He values working with university leadership and governing boards of civic organizations to find the professionals best prepared to advocate for a better world.
