Vijay Saraswat

Vijay has built expertise across a wide range of higher education searches since joining Isaacson, Miller (IM) in 2012. He has played a key role in IM’s Science, Technology, and Society (STS) practice, solving complex leadership placements across a range of tier one research institutions and universities nationwide, including University-Affiliated Research Centers (UARCs), and Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs) like the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). He has worked across engineering, natural and physical sciences, environmental sciences, information and data sciences, and health sciences, in both academic leadership settings as well as in functional and translational roles, and has led several of IM’s landmark research leadership searches at institutions like the University of Wisconsin, Rice University, and the University of Maryland. Vijay has a deep understanding of—and dedication to—the broad socioeconomic impact that research institutions can have on people and place. Other searches include center directors, chairs, deans of sciences and engineering, vice presidents for research, and campus and system presidents.

Prior to joining IM, Vijay was an active-duty U.S. Marine Sergeant in the intelligence field, earning an honorable discharge in 2009 following five years of service, including two tours in Iraq.
