Jody Reilly Soja | Head of School

The Loomis Chaffee School, Head of School

Loomis Chaffee’s Board of Trustees selected Jody Reilly Soja to serve as the eighth head of school and president of The Loomis Institute.

Jody is the current head of school at Indian Mountain School, a co-educational junior boarding school in Lakeville, Connecticut. An educator at heart, Jody's passion for independent schools is apparent the moment you meet her; she is a true teacher with a strong bent toward joy and community. Prior to her time as head of school at Indian Mountain, Jody spent several years teaching at Millbrook School in New York and served as head of the middle school and director of faculty development at National Cathedral School (NCS), a private day school for girls in Washington, D.C. Jody began her career in education at Indian Mountain in 1999, serving variously as a teacher of U.S. History, dormitory head, assistant athletic director, girls soccer and lacrosse coach, and dean of faculty. She returned to Indian Mountain in 2015 and has led the school to new heights, including the successful completion of two strategic planning processes; a campus revitalization; strong fundraising efforts; and notable strides in diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Jody earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Bates College and a master’s degree in education, with a focus on teaching and learning, from Harvard University.
