University of Denver, Senior Vice Chancellor for University Relations

The University of Denver and Chancellor Jeremy Haefner have appointed Brad Bohlander as its first Senior Vice Chancellor for University Relations.

In his new role, Bohlander will unite the university’s marketing, communications, and government relations functions, enhance the university's reputation, and collaborate with institutional leadership and campus partners to protect and elevate DU’s brand on a regional and national scale.

Bohlander served most recently as the senior vice president and chief communications and marketing officer at the University of Arizona. Before that, he spent twelve years at North Carolina State University as the chief communications and marketing officer, where he played a pivotal role in transforming the university's communications culture and effectiveness, specifically driving significant positive change in branding. He has also served as the executive director of public relations at Colorado State University, where he significantly increased media coverage and established highly successful programs in community relations, social media, and crisis communications.

Beyond his professional roles, Bohlander is distinguished by his active participation in esteemed associations such as the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, Public Relations Society of America, and American Marketing Association.

Bohlander earned his bachelor’s degree in technical journalism, with an emphasis on public relations plus a secondary emphasis in business marketing, from Colorado State University.
