Executive Vice President, Global Tobacco Control Programs Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids | Washington, District of Columbia The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (the Campaign), a leader in the fight to reduce tobacco use and its devastating consequences in the United States and around the world, is seeking an exceptional and mission-driven Executive Vice President (EVP) to oversee its Global Tobacco Control Programs. The Campaign is the largest non-profit advocacy organization devoted to changing public attitudes and public policies related to tobacco in order to prevent kids from using tobacco, help smokers quit, and protect everyone from secondhand smoke. This is a compelling opportunity for a passionate, experienced advocate and executive to play a pivotal role in improving public health internationally. Around the world, a growing number of countries are standing up to the tobacco industry and taking strong action. Yet much remains to be done as tobacco use remains the world’s leading cause of preventable death, killing more than eight million people worldwide and causing more than $1.4 trillion in health care expenses and economic harm annually. The EVP will lead the Campaign’s global work going forward—efforts that have the potential to make an extraordinary difference, especially in low and middle-income countries where over 80 percent of the world’s smokers live. The EVP is responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of the Campaign’s Global Tobacco Control Programs. The EVP will provide exceptional programmatic, financial, and people management over the Global Tobacco Control portfolio, which includes programs in more than 50 countries and a staff of employees and consultants based in priority countries around the world. The EVP will ensure that the policies and programs carried out by the Global Tobacco Control Programs team fully support and are consistent with the organization’s mission, vision, and values. The EVP will lead Global Tobacco Control Programs in meeting goals and objectives in a timely manner and instill a culture of cooperative and effective work amongst the four Global Tobacco Control departments (Communications, Grants, Legal, and Research) and Country/Regional teams in order to maximize impact and outcomes.The EVP reports directly to the President, is a member of the Campaign’s Executive Committee and Senior Leadership Team, and chairs the Global Tobacco Management team.
