Assistant Dean of Development Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health | New York, New York Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Katie Mayfield as senior director of development, effective January 3, 2024. Reporting to the associate dean for development and alumni relations, Mayfield will provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to the development enterprise for one of the world’s leading schools of public health. Mayfield joins Columbia Mailman from Rutgers University where she served as the chief development officer for two prominent schools within Rutgers Health: the school of public health and the school of health professions. In this capacity, Mayfield provided strategic leadership for all aspects of fundraising for the schools with a strong focus on individual major gifts. Prior to joining Rutgers, Mayfield served as director of development and outreach for Women Aware, a county-wide domestic violence agency in Middlesex County, New Jersey. In 2015, Mayfield achieved doctoral candidacy in cultural anthropology at Rutgers where she was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. Mayfield earned a bachelor’s degree in international affairs and women’s studies from the University of Georgia and a master of arts in anthropology from Rutgers University.
