Chief Conservation Officer Massachusetts Audubon Society | Lincoln, Massachusetts Mass Audubon has selected Jocelyn Forbush as its inaugural Chief Conservation Officer, effective September 5, 2023. Forbush will lead the land protection and conservation science departments, overseeing conservation strategies and investments, building government and non-governmental partnerships, and helping guide growing ecological restoration and coastal resilience programs across Massachusetts. Forbush, a formally trained ecologist, spent 21 years with The Trustees of Reservations, where she held numerous leadership positions, including Western Regional Director, Vice President of Program Leadership, and Acting President & CEO. Under Forbush’s leadership, The Trustees pioneered conservation within Gateway Cities, established the nationally supported Highland Communities Initiative that led to The Trustees’ affiliation with Hilltown Land Trust, helped launch the One Waterfront Initiative, increased stewardship investment and engagement of more than 50 community gardens in Boston, and led the protection of iconic properties across the Commonwealth.
