President Montserrat College of Art | Beverly, Massachusetts We are pleased to announce that Montserrat College of Art has selected Brian Pellinen to serve as its next President. Pellinen has served as the college’s interim president since January of 2023, and has worked at Montserrat since 2005. Pellinen has been in academic leadership positions for 30 years, including as an academic dean and associate dean at Montserrat. In his role as academic dean, the college credited Pellinen with helping to lead Montserrat through the challenges of COVID-19, landing grants and gifts that increased internship and mentorship opportunities, the hiring of new full-time faculty members, and the creation of new areas of study.Prior to his time at Montserrat, Pellinen held leadership positions at Endicott College, Nashua Community College, and Northern New Mexico College. He has also been a teaching faculty member at several of his prior colleges. He's an active visual artist and writer, with recent shows in Massachusetts and theater performances produced in Washington, D.C. ’s Fringe Festival.Pellinen has a master’s degree from York University in Toronto and a bachelor of arts in English from the University of Minnesota.You can read the full press release here.
