Executive Director of Development, Henry Samueli School of Engineering University of California, Irvine | Irvine, California The University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine) has named Leslie Lichtenstein as the Executive Director of Development, Samueli School of Engineering, effective May 22, 2023. Lichtenstein joins UC Irvine from the University of Southern California (USC), where she served as Director of Strategic Partnerships for the Leonard D. Schaeffer Center for Health Policy & Economics. In her new role at UC Irvine, Lichtenstein will partner closely with Dean Magnus Egerstedt and University Advancement to lead the development program and collaborate with major donors to raise philanthropic resources for the Samueli School of Engineering.Leslie has over 20 years of experience in fundraising, strategy, and marketing in higher education and the financial services industry. Prior to USC, Leslie served as Assistant Vice President, Development, and Strategy at the University of Chicago, where she led the growth of philanthropic support and strategic partnerships in the areas of engineering, data science, and innovation. Before that, Leslie was with the University of Chicago Law School as Founding Executive Director of the Doctoroff Business Leadership Program and the Chicago Booth School of Business as Senior Director of Alumni Relations and Development, where she managed development teams focusing on principal and major gift donors and worked closely with faculty and deans on strategic fundraising and engagement initiatives.Lichtenstein holds a bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of Chicago and a master of business administration from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.Rachel Ellenport led this search with Nicole Poe, Emily Godamanna, and Lisa Clayton.
