The Wege Foundation, President and CEO

The Wege Foundation selected James Logan as its next President and Chief Executive Officer. Logan brings nearly 20 years’ experience with philanthropy and nonprofit entities to the Foundation.

Logan comes from the Greater New Orleans Foundation where he served as a Program Officer, focusing on environmental justice, racial equity and workforce development. At the Greater New Orleans Foundation, he co-led the development and adoption of its Environmental Fund’s Theory of Change and managed the Greater Together Fund for Racial Equity, which has awarded nearly $2.5 million in grants to Black-led nonprofits.

Previously, Logan was the founding manager of the City of New Orleans’ NOLA FOR LIFE Reentry Strategy, which streamlined employment and wraparound services for returning citizens transitioning out of incarceration. He also authored the City of New Orleans’ “Ban the Box” policy, which provides a fair opportunity to returning citizens seeking employment. He is the Immediate Past President of the 100 Black Men of Metro New Orleans and serves on the boards of directors of KID smART New Orleans, the Justice and Accountability Center of Louisiana and the New Orleans Arts Education Alliance.
